The Readers’ Club of Police DAV Public school here, celebrated the World Book Day during the morning assembly. The Class X students spoke on the importance of books. An oath taking ceremony was also performed in which the students took an oath to read the books regularly. The Principal also in her address, encouraged the students to read books regularly not only to enrich their knowledge but also to utilize their time in a judicious way.
Innocent Hearts School celebrated ‘World Book Day’ by performing various activities to emphasise on the importance of books. Classes I to V showed their talent and artistic finesse during the ‘Calligraphy Activity’. Classes VI and VII made beautiful bookmarks to show their creativity and artistic talent in the ‘Bookmark Making Activity’. Students of classes VIII and IX took part in a ‘Slogan Writing Competition’ in which they artistically expressed their views using different quotations related to books while Class X reviewed their favourite books by expressing in the class. All the teachers stressed the importance of books in our lives and how they could aid the students even more by reading relevant books. The young students were taken to the library and shown books in different sections related to different categories. Director Principal Dheeraj Banati and Vice Principal Sharmila Nakra told students that they should choose books according to their interest and treat them as their best friends.
Apeejay School also celebrated ‘World Book Day’ was celebrated in , Tanda Road. Special assembly was organised by the literary club of the school. A Power Point presentation was held on the importance of the day. Different characters from the Shakespearean tragedies were enacted on the stage by the children. Teachers In-charge of the club motivated the children to read at least one book a week. Headmistress of the school Arshiya Badalia encouraged children to read good books to be a better citizen of the country.
