A total of 15 intellectually disabled athletes of St Joseph’s Convent School, Cantt Road, participated in the ‘21st Punjab State Special Olympics’ held at Ludhiana and bagged runner-up trophy.

The special athletes from Jalandhar won 16 gold, nine silver and eight bronze medals in track and field events. Sahil Badhan get the best of in wheelchair race. Simmi Singh and Kartik bagged softball throw. Vanshika Aggarwal clinched 25-m walk. Poma, Marina, Seema, Sweeti and Manisha won 50-m dash and 50-m race. Gourav won gold medal in100 and 400-m and relay race. Jasdeep Sandhu and Bhushan won triple jump. Guntash won in shot put. —TNS
