SSA/RMSA teachers to meet Cong president

JALANDHAR: Continuing with their protest against the state government for being denied regularisation with previous pay scales and other demands being unaddressed by the state government, teachers of the SSA RMSA Union observed a black Diwali.

Continuing with their protest against the state government for being denied regularisation with previous pay scales and other demands being unaddressed by the state government, teachers of the SSA RMSA Union observed a black Diwali.

As many as 1,000 teachers took out a march at Hoshiarpur, wearing black clothes and bearing black flags, protested against the policies of the state government. Black Diwali was also observed at seven state headquarters.

In Jalandhar, a total of 350 teachers, belonging to SSA RMSA Union, along with Government Teachers’ Union, Democratic Teachers’ Union, and various Students’ Unions took out a march from Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall to Nehru Garden School. Students waived black flags and observed black Diwali.

State president of SSA RMSA Union, Ram Bhajan Chaudhary, said, “The government hasn’t paid any heed to our demands. We will hold a meeting with Sanjha Adhyapak Morcha tomorrow, after which the future course of action will be decided.”

“We will hold a meeting with Rahul Gandhi soon on the issue,” he added. — TNS
