Share information related to drugs on helpline number

JALANDHAR: Tto further tighten noose around the menace of drugs, the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Praveen Kumar Sinha has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gurmeet Singh as the nodal officer of the ‘Drug Free Helpline’ number 9592918005 where people can share any sort of information related to drugs.

Tto further tighten noose around the menace of drugs, the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Praveen Kumar Sinha has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gurmeet Singh as the nodal officer of the ‘Drug Free Helpline’ number 9592918005 where people can share any sort of information related to drugs.

The Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Sinha said that the helpline started by the district Police last year had got positive response from people. He said that earlier a ‘Drug Free Helpline’ was started to facilitate the drug addicts and their family members for detoxification and de-addiction of the addicts.

However, now the ambit of the helpline has been widened and any person who has any information regarding drug supply network or other can share it on this helpline for quick action by Police.

The Commissioner of Police further said the Deputy Commissioner of Police would solve the complaints. The identity of any person giving information on drugs would not be revealed to anyone. Sinha said Helpline would be operational round the clock in the service of people.

Soliciting full support and cooperation from people in this regard, the Commissioner of Police said the prime motive of this helpline was to carve out a drug -free and healthy Jalandhar.
