SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal today announced to reject the CBI closure report on sacrilege incidents of Guru Granth Sahib.

A decision regarding the same was taken during an interim committee meeting held at Sultanpur Lodhi.

Interacting with the media after the meeting, he said the SGPC demands strictest action against those responsible for the incidents.

“We will meet the Union Home Minister in this regard and also take a legal recourse,” he said.

Regarding preparations for the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, Longowal said a garden of 550 traditional plants would be set up at Gurdwara Ber Sahib. We will consult horticulture specialists for the same. We will also take support of Canada-based sangat. Owing to an increasing footfall of the sangat, we will also set up a machine to make chapattis in the gurdwara.”
