Security stepped up at railway tracks, bridges

JALANDHAR:The GRP SP today visited the police stations under its jurisdiction to review the security at the railway stations and bridges.

The GRP SP today visited the police stations under its jurisdiction to review the security at the railway stations and bridges.

Speaking to the Jalandhar Tribune, Lakhwinderpal Singh Khaira said, "It was a security review meeting that we held today. Otherwise, we keep our patrolling regular at the railway tracks. Meanwhile, keeping in mind the Independence Day we have beefed up the patrolling at the rail tracks and bridges." 

He said the meetings were also organised at the police post in-charges of Pathankot, Amritsar and Ludhiana. The officials were instructed to ensure the through checking all the bridges day and night. 

The officials were instructed to equip the patrolling staff with walky-talky sets, search lights, weapons and ammunition. The SHOs were also instructed to get anti-sabotage into work for the security check at crowded railway station.
