Jalandhar: Every activity done at The Nobel has a purpose behind it. This time, The Nobelians learnt "unity in diversity" by performing the folk dances of various states. The students from Class I to V participated in the activity. Principal Meenakshi Mehta helped the class in-charges choose a state and prepare its folk dance. The students showed their talent class-wise and won the hearts of one and all present on the occasion. TNS

Best out of waste working models

Jalandhar: At KMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School, the Department of Chemistry organised a 'Best out of waste' competition. Acclaimed academician and principal Anuja Sharma was the chief guest of the occasion. In an overwhelming response to the call for participation, 70 students registered for the event. The models that were outstanding were rain-water harvesting, waste-water management, hydro active power plant and nuclear power plant. Himani and Anshuman from class XII won the first prize. The second prize was shared by Prabh and Simran from class XI and Amanpreet and Amarpreet from class XII. The third prize was won by Pawan, Poonam, Prabhkirat and Harsimran of class XII. The consolation prize was given to Mansi, Akriti, Navjit, Navneet, Sumit Bhatia from class XII, Pahuldeep class XI and Amanjot and Komalpreet from class XII. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the prize winners and applauded the efforts put in by the students and faculty in making the event successful. Such events should be held more often as they lead to through understanding of the subject, she added. TNS
