Scheme benefits 2,884 in Hoshiarpur district

Extending the benefit of state government’s welfare scheme which provides cashless treatment to the poor strata of society, Hoshiarpur district has begun the free-of-cost treatment worth Rs 1,42,37, 288 under Bhagat the Puran Singh Sehat Bima Scheme, in the district.

Around 2,884 patients have been provided treatment up to Rs 50,000 per annum at the empanelled 14 private hospitals, including government hospitals, so far.

Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia said after seeing the positive results of the scheme, the state government has extended its term for the second time. Now, it will be in force till October 2018, she added.

Whenever anybody is in need of some kind of indoor treatment, he just has to show his card. The hospital concerned would not charge any amount from that person up to the cashless limit of Rs50,000.

She calls upon the Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Scheme card holders to draw maximum benefit from the scheme up to the October 2018 and contact the DMC office, in case of any problem.

She also appealed them to show the smart card to the empanelled hospital before getting themselves treated at the hospital.
