Jalandhar, March 28

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Maan today said the SGPC had already completed its term and now it had no statutory right to pass the budget. He demanded that SGPC elections should be held on priority basis.

Party members today held a protest in the District Administrative Complex demanding immediate elections for the SGPC. A memorandum was also submitted to the administration.

Condemning Punjab CM Capt Amrinder Singh’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Punjab Police DGP KPS Gill, Maan said both of them were ‘Anti-Sikh’, hence, the Sikh community had no hope from the Congress government.
