Jalandhar, February 21

Members of the Rail Coach Factory Employees Union today held a demonstration against the alleged move of the government on outsourcing and privatisation at the furnishing shop on the campus.

The general secretary of the union Sarvjeet Singh alleged that the Union Government was ignoring the welfare of the 99 per cent population of the country to benefit the 1 per cent highly affluent people of the country.

“The government is now eying various units of the Railways Department and is moving a step forward in this direction. On orders of the railway board, there are plans of the RCF administration to outsource various sections, including paint shop, bogey shop, seat and berth section of the furnishing shop and electrical section.

All such steps can make our jobs and the future of our children insecure.

The big companies who will take over willexploit us,” he said, expressing his apprehensions to the employees at the gathering.
