Providing burial grounds to Muslim, Christian brethren top priority: ADC

JALANDHAR: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Jasbir Singh said today that the district administration would accord top priority towards providing burial grounds to the Muslim and Christian brethren, wherever required in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Jasbir Singh said today that the district administration would accord top priority towards providing burial grounds to the Muslim and Christian brethren, wherever required in the district.

An assurance to this regard was given by the Additional Deputy Commissioner to chairman of the Punjab State Minority Commission Munawar Masih during a meeting at the District Administrative Complex here.

He said the administration was already according topmost priority to settle issues of lands for graveyards. Jasbir said the administration would make all-out efforts for facilitating both communities for this noble cause.

Welcoming the commission’s chairman and its other members, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said the district administration was duty-bound to protect the interests of the minorities in the district.

He appealed the representatives of the communities to submit their written applications so that time-bound action could be taken in this regard. — TNS
