Programme on safety training held at RCF

A one-day safety training programme on general engineering was organised jointly by the Director of Factories, Punjab, Chandigarh and Punjab Industrial Safety Council, Chandigarh, at the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala.

The programme was held at RCF’s technical training centre. NK Nandanwar, chief workshop engineer and shell and factory manager welcomed Kashmir Singh, Joint Director of Factories (Punjab), Chandigarh, and PC Gupta, Chief Mechanical Engineer (factory occupier).

PC Gupta, chief mechanical engineer, said RCF was conscious about the safety and welfare of its employees and contractual workers. Kashmir Singh said safety was a collective responsibility. Fifty supervisors and technicians of the RCF participated in the training programme during which lectures were delivered by experts on industrial safety. Manoj Mehta, chief safety officer, RCF, delivered lecture on chemical safety while Balkar Singh, chief instructor, talked about general safety. Chief instructors GP Singh and Rameshwar Singh gave lectures on electrical safety and fire safety, respectively.

During the valedictory session, Kashmir Singh, Joint Director of Factories (Punjab) and Gurjent Singh, ADF, Phagwara, issued certificates to all participants. In his vote of thanks, Narinder Kumar, works manager, monitoring, said safety system could only be maintained by collective efforts and co-ordination of all team members.
