Poppy husk seized, held

PHAGWARA: The police arrested two drug peddlers, identified as Surjit Kaur, a resident of Sarhal Kalan village, and Ram Pal, a resident of Khotrra Road and seized 1 kg of puppy husk and 20 intoxicating injections from their possession on Sunday night. SP Mandip Singh said 1 kg of puppy husk was recovered from Surjit Kaur while 20 intoxicating injections were recovered from Ram Pal. The police have registered cases under the NDPS Act. OC

Man drowns in pond

PHAGWARA: Kalu, a resident of Firozenagar, reportedly drowned in a pond in nearby Wahid village, on Sunday evening. The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and sent the body to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.OC
