Police-public meeting on drug menace

JALANDHAR: With a view to making the city drugs-free, the Jalandhar police, under the leadership of Police Commissioner Arpit Shukla conducted a police-public meeting on the Gulab Devi road here today.

With a view to making the city drugs-free, the Jalandhar police, under the leadership of Police Commissioner Arpit Shukla conducted a police-public meeting on the Gulab Devi road here today.

The police also launched helpline number 9592918005 for the people to provide information about the drugs trade and their abuse in their respective areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Shukla said the informers would be provided Rs 10,000 as reward money and their names would be kept confidential. The top cop also urged the people to cooperate with the police to make the city drugs-free.

He said thousands of youths had ruined their lives due to drug abuse, therefore it was the need of the hour to get rid of this menace.

Police officials, including Navjot Singh Mahal, Gurmeet Singh, harjeet Singh, Jasvir Singh, Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu, Digvijay Singh Kapil and Deepika Singh, were present on the occasion.
