Police claim solving blind murder

The Jalandhar Rural Police today claimed to have solved a blind murder case in which a Nangal Shama village-based 58-year-old vegetable farmer’s body was found in his farm farm was found on the morning of December 21.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Tejvir Singh Hundal, DSP, Adampur, said the police had arrested Paramvir Singh, a resident of the same village in connection with the murder of Harjit Singh.

He said the accused had confessed to murdering Harjit Singh. “The accused told the police that he had murdered Harjit because he used to abuse the grandmother of the accused,” said the DSP.

Sarabjit Singh, brother of Harjit Singh, told Jalandhar Tribune that Harjit used to live in a house on the farm. “I went to meet Harjit in the morning on December 21 when I found him murdered with sharp-edged weapons. He had grave head injuries that perhaps caused his death,” he added.
