Parallel jathedars installed by Sarbat Khalsa today announced to start ‘Gurdwara Parbandh Sudhar Lehar’ under which they intend to introduce certain mechanisms for managing the functioning of gurdwaras in an improvised manner.

Jathedars Dhyan Singh Mand, Baljit Singh Daduwal and Amrit Singh Ajnala made the announcement while addressing a press conference here today. They alleged that the donations and offerings made to the SGPC by the Sikh sangat was not being properly used.

The jathedars also declared that they would hold meetings with granthis of all districts in the first phase starting from Ferozepur on June 22 and Nawanshahr on August 1.

They said they would also hold meetings with ragis, dhadhis, federations and political groups in the second phase. They said they had given a call to all members and granthis of the SGPC too.

On Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege incidents, they said it seemed that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had forgotten his promises. The fourth month had started since the Congress came to power in the state and there had been no headway in the cases.

Regarding a threat letter received at the residence of former jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Gurmukh Singh, Mand said it seemed more of like a drama to gain sympathy of people.
