Three women held for theft

PHAGWARA: The Satnampura police on Tuesday arrested three women, identified as Saprna, Sunita and Sonika, all residents of Pehchan Nagar, here, on the charges of stealing five air conditioners and sanitary goods from an under-construction restaurant near Lovely Professional University here a few days ago.

PHAGWARA: The Satnampura police on Tuesday arrested three women, identified as Saprna, Sunita and Sonika, all residents of Pehchan Nagar, here, on the charges of stealing five air conditioners and sanitary goods from an under-construction restaurant near Lovely Professional University here a few days ago. Station House Officer Onkar Singh Brar said on a complaint lodged by restaurant owner Sukhwinder Singh, the police have registered a case and arrested the trio. OC

Thieves strike at garment shop

Phagwara: A garment shop was reportedly burgled in Rehana Jattan village in the Phagwara subdivision on Monday night. Ashish Kumar, a resident of Moti Bazaar, here, told the police that miscreants entered the shop after breaking the locks of the shop shutter and took away clothes worth over Rs 1.5 lakh. The police have registered a case in this regard. OC

Goods stolen from house

Phagwara: The house of an NRI, Sushil Kumar, reportedly burgled in the local Urban Estate locality on Monday night. One LED TV and several taps were found stolen from the house on Tuesday morning. A case has been registered. OC

Man held with intoxicants

Phagwara: The police have arrested a drug peddler, Salinder Singh of Lakhpur, and seized 160 intoxicant tablets from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him. OC
