Two bikers killed in road accident

HOSHIARPUR: Two persons were killed on the spot when their motorcycle collided with a Punjab Roadways bus on the Hoshiarpur-Tanda road Sunday morning.

Two persons were killed on the spot when their motorcycle collided with a Punjab Roadways bus on the Hoshiarpur-Tanda road Sunday morning. After the accident, the bus driver fled, leaving the vehicle behind. After getting information, a police party impounded both the vehicles. One of those killed has been identified as Sudesh Kumar (42), son of Prakash Chander, a resident of Chadial village, while the second person has not been identified.

Family members of the deceased told the police that Sudesh was a construction worker and had come to Hoshiarpur in the morning. A Punjab Roadways bus hit their motorcycle and both died on the spot. The police have registered a case against Punjab Roadways bus driver Mandeep Singh. The body of Sudesh was handed over to his family members after the post-mortem, while the unidentified body has been kept in the mortuary.—OC
