The district BJP unit paid its tributes to former Union minister and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, who passed away last evening.

With a majority of the party workers away to Delhi, the leader’s passing was condoled in a thoughtful ceremony held on Wednesday while a formal event shall be held tomorrow.

Senior party leaders condoled Sushma’s passing and termed it an irreparable loss. Former minister of Punjab and former state president, BJP, Manoranjan Kalia expressed deep shock and grief over the sudden demise of the former union minister. Kalia said Swaraj, who worked in various capacities in the BJP organisational structure and in the government, was a great orator, diplomat and an exceptional parliamentarian.

Hailing from Ambala, she also had deep associations with Jalandhar. While most of the party workers here were away to Delhi to pay last respects to her, we shall be holding a special event tomorrow to pay tributes to her. We shall talk about her life journey to apprise party workers of her huge contribution.”
