Vellore visit to help MC in dealing with garbage

JALANDHAR: A Municipal Corporation team visited Vellore and had a dialogue with Municipal Commissioner Siva Subramaniyam and executives of the waste management plant there.

A Municipal Corporation team visited Vellore and had a dialogue with Municipal Commissioner Siva Subramaniyam and executives of the waste management plant there.

The team witnessed the process of segregation and recycling of waste material and turning it into a valuable resource. The team said it was a gainful and productive learning experience.

Today, Municipal Commissioner Diprava Lakra, along with health officer Shri Krishna Sharma visited Ward Number 78. Councillor of the ward, Jagdish Samrai, told the residents that the ward would be made garbage-free with the technique that they had seen in Vellore.

Samrai said the ward was devoid of proper sanitation workers and there was lack of equipment. — TNS
