Couple arrested with heroin

JALANDHAR: The Jalandhar rural police, police arrested a couple for possessing 700-gm heroin.

The Jalandhar rural police, police arrested a couple for possessing 700-gm heroin. The duo have been identified as Abid Ali Saiyad (45) and his wife Rabab (37). Both of them are the residents of Mumbai.

While addressing the press media, SSP Jalandhar (Rural) Navjot Singh Mahal said today at about 12:30 pm, SHO PS Sadar Nakodar, along with a police party laid a naka at Canal Bridge, Kotla Janga. The duo were coming from Goriha bus stand towards Kotla Janga village. The police acted on a tip off and informed Sarabjit Rai, DSP (special branch). On being frisked, 500 gm heroin was recovered from Abid Ali Saiyad, whereas 200 gm was recovered from the footwear of his wife Rabab.

Both the accused have been arrested. — TNS
