Only after one-and-a-half month of replacing the damaged National Flag with a new one, again the 105-feet high pole was witnessed without the National Flag since last month. More than 32 National Flags hoisted at a height of 105 feet have either been damaged or blown away during the past 34 months here.

The National Flag was hoisted and installed on August 5, 2015, in front of the rest house, along the national highway by former Punjab Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi who, along with former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Som Parkash, present MLA, inaugurated the 105-feet high National Flag which has become a big challenge for the district administration and the Municipal Corporation.

A sum of Rs 13 lakh was spent on the project for installing the National Flag.

Moreover, neither any politician belonging to the Congress nor the SAD-BJP combine, arrived to salute the National Flag on the Independence /Republic Day or any other historical day to hoist the National Flag.

When contacted, SDM Jyoti Bala, said she would summon officials of the municipal corporation to make adequate arrangements to install a stable flag prepared with a good-quality cloth soon.
