Lovely Professional University (LPU) organised a motivational event, ‘The Challenge of Change’, where distinguished young achievers and motivational speakers inspired students.

Visiting inspirers included ethical hacker Rahul Tyagi (an LPU alumnus), Hollywood-trained actor, director and dancer Varun Pruthi and comedian Jaspreet Singh. Conducted by students’ organisation, Wings of Hope, the event proved to provide entrepreneurship-aspiring environment to the students. LPU director general HR Singla welcomed the guests in the auditorium.

While interacting with students, Rahul Tyagi shared security and hacking tips with them. He demonstrated his skills live on the LPU stage by hacking a student’s mobile phone in just 30 seconds. Rahul is a postgraduate with majors in Computer Science from the same campus. He has conducted over 100 training sessions globally in the past five years. Being a cyber space researcher, Rahul has found critical vulnerabilities on websites of Intel, Sony, HP, Discovery Networks and many more. As such, his session was on exploiting computer vulnerabilities along with ethical hacking lessons.

Inspiring social media star and multi-talented personality, Varun Pruthi motivated students to be focused on their goals. Sharing his motto of ‘Bringing Humanity Back’, Varun also demonstrated his Hollywood talent on famous rhythms. He asked students to help others and keep on doing good deeds. After getting training from Hollywood (California), Varun has worked in many commercials, advertisements, music videos, and Bollywood films. He has conducted many social experiments to raise awareness of the ‘bystander effect’ in Indian society. Explaining about the effect, he advised students: “When someone is in a dangerous situation, provide help to the victim. Unlike most people’s natural reaction, do not ignore and move away from the scene.”

Similarly, comedian Jaspreet Singh entertained LPU students with his uninhibited sense of humor and told them that “laughter is the best medicine and a therapy.” During the closing hour, rhythmic performances by the band, Vishuddh, and OMG dance group boosted students’ spirits.
