Mother-son duo booked for fraud

PHAWARA: On the basis of a complaint lodged by a resident of Green Park, Balbir Kaur, a case under section 420 and 406 of the IPC has been registered against Avtar Singh and his mother Pushpinder Kaur on the charge of fraudulent practices on the pretext of selling a kothi local Vishavkarma Nagar.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by a resident of Green Park, Balbir Kaur, a case under section 420 and 406 of the IPC has been registered against Avtar Singh and his mother Pushpinder Kaur on the charge of fraudulent practices on the pretext of selling a kothi local Vishavkarma Nagar. The complainant alleged before the police that the accused mother-son duo made a deal for Rs 42 lakh and took Rs 15 lakh as advance. But it later came to light that the accused had already entered into another deal with another person. No arrests have been made so far.

The police have registered a case under section 323, 324, 148, 149, 341 and 506 of the IPC against 12 persons on the charge of attacking and injuring Imran Parvez on the night of June 23. Meanwhile, the Sadar police have registered a case under section 447, 427, 506 and 511 of the IPC against a villager Amarjit on the charge of illegally occupying land of a resident of village Madhopur, Amarjit. In yet another development, the Satnampura police have booked Vishnu Gupta of the same locality under section 323 and 324 on the charge of assaulting by a Bhagatpura resident, Rajesh Kumar. Following a complaint lodged by a commission agent, Karamjit Singh of village Poadhera, the Bilga police have registered a case under section 420, 465, 471 and 120B of the IPC against his employee Vipin Kumar, a resident of Himachal Pardesh.
