A girl from HMV College, enrolled in the Class XII course, who went missing last Saturday, was reportedly found last night from Beas.

The college today released its preliminary inquiry report as her disappearance was seen to be connected with her fight with some other girls on the campus.

Releasing the preliminary inquiry report, principal Ajay Sareen said, "There is no ragging involved. The Snapchat video of the fight prepared by the students was an immature and irresponsible behaviour on the part of students. It is pertinent to mention that the missing student was found from a nearly religious place by the police on Wednesday night. The missing student had joined the institution only three days back and was already known to the girls with whom she had fought. The case is clearly not of ragging but of misunderstanding."

After the incident, the principal had formulated an inquiry committee comprising Dr Kanwaldeep Kaur, Ramnita Saini Sharda and Dr Ashmeen Kaur. "The inquiry committee did its investigation on the basis of the statement of students given to the police. They also saw the 24-hour footage of CCTV cameras. They did not find anything suspicious. It is clear from the CCTV footage that the girl left the college campus on Saturday at 12.41 pm. The CCTV footage was shown to the parents and the sister of the girl and they confirmed that the girl had gone out of the campus," she said.

On Thursday evening, the girl along with her family members, met the principal in the presence of the staff members. She gave her statement in writing to the college in which she clearly wrote that it was not a case of ragging but a result of misunderstanding with the other girls.
