The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Sunder Sham Arora, handed over the keys of a small hearse procured with Rs 5.5 lakh (from his discretionary fund) to the ‘Sri Ram Charit Manas Prachar Mandal’ at Ram Bhawan in Chand Nagar.

He said the ‘mandal’ was dedicated to the service of the society and the organisation was a combination of religious and social organisations. Civil Surgeon (retd), Dr Ajay Bagga said the ‘mandal’ had three hearses, but a small hearse was required to reach the narrow streets and lanes.

He said besides, a number of social works were being done to serve the poor by the ‘mandal’. Harish Saini, president of the ‘mandal’, said: The ‘Mandal’ is running mortury vans already for the past 20 years. He thanked the minister and all present.
