Matches scheduled to be held today postponed

Expressing solidarity with the victims of the tragic rail mishap in Amritsar, two kabaddi matches schedule to take place under the Global Kabaddi League being held under the aegis of Tandarust Punjab Mission were  postponed today by the organising committee.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jalandhar-cum-Chairman of Organising Committee, Varinder Kumar Sharma, said as per the schedule two matches that were scheduled to take place between the teams of Black Panthers and Singh Warriors and between California Eagles and Delhi Tigers had been postponed. 

The (DC) said due to the unfortunate incident two matches were cancelled, adding that two matches would be rescheduled and one of the match would be held at Jalandhar on October 21.Whereas another match would be held at Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, expressing profound grief and sorrow over the unfortunate mishap at Amritsar, the Deputy Commissioner said the entire state had been shocked by the tragic incident. 

The DC said the organisers of the event and Surjit Hockey Society had also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the incident.
