Man held on murder charge

JALANDHAR: Following the murder of a Canada-based resident, Surinder Kaur, from Koja village in the Bhogpur police station, the police have taken a suspect from the village into custody.

Following the murder of a Canada-based resident, Surinder Kaur, from Koja village in the Bhogpur police station, the police have taken a suspect from the village into custody.

Speaking to Jalandhar Tribune, the Bhogpur SHO said: “We have arrested a person on suspicion from the village today. He was seen near the victim’s house before the murder. However, we are further investigating the matter.”

“It seems that the motive behind the crime was robbery. It was found that the arrested accused had been involved in petty cases,” the SHO said.

He said the police had been working on several angles in the case and it would be cracked soon.
