Man dies as vehicle hits pole

JALANDHAR: A man died and two others received serious injuries in an accident occurred on the Amritsar-Jalandhar highway today.

A man died and two others received serious injuries in an accident occurred on the Amritsar-Jalandhar highway today.

The incident took place near Succhi village while they were travelling in their Hyundai Creta vehicle. Passers-by informed the police that their vehicle hit with an electrical pole after the driver lose control over the vehicle.

While the deceased, identified as Aman Sood (37), succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, his two friends Vikas (32) and Gurpreet (35) were badly injured in the mishap.

Police officials investigating the incident said all occupants of the vehicle were residents of Moga and worked with a private company.

Rama Mandi SHO Sukhjit Singh Singh said the incident occurred as the driver of the overspeeding vehicle lost control over it while trying to prevent a collision with another vehicle.
