A shobha yatra to mark ‘Maha Shivratri’ was taken out here today. The yatra was organised by the members of the Devi Talab Temple commitee. It commenced from the Devi Talab Temple and passed through various places.

Politicians and members of various social groups participated in the yatra. Beautiful palanquins and well-designed artefacts, displaying the stories about the life of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were the major attractions of the yatra. Hymns were chanted by accompanying jathas.

En route the shobha yatra, shopkeepers cleaned the roads in front of their outlets, beautified them and organised stalls of langar.

The district administration also made adequate arrangements for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities.

A large number of security personnel were deployed at the main chowks for the convenience of residents.

Innokids school

Shivratari was celebrated at three branches of Innokids, GMT, Loharan, and Cantonment- Jandiala Road. Students dressed as Lord Shiva, came as worshippers of Shiva and chanted hymns. They enacted a choreography depicting the marriage of Lord Shiva. Teachers enlightened the kids about the life of Lord Shiva. Director Principal Dheeraj Banati, shared the significance of the Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s bond.
