LPU student gets Rs 1-cr pay package

PHAGWARA: Kavita Faman , a final year student of MSc Agriculture (Agronomy), Lovely Professional University (LPU), has been selected as a Production Manager of Monsanto Agrochemical Company at a pay package of Rs 1 crore per annum.

Kavita Faman , a final year student of MSc Agriculture (Agronomy), Lovely Professional University (LPU), has been selected as a Production Manager of Monsanto Agrochemical Company at a pay package of Rs 1 crore per annum.

“I am excited to join the company and will strive to absorb as much as I can over the next few years,” said Kavita.

“I am thankful to my alma mater, that helps me prepare for the opportunity. The ability to apply things we learn at the class and farms.The research focus of the programme played a key part in making me industry ready,” added Kavita.

Dr Ramesh Kumar, Dean, School of Agriculture said: “Kavita is one of the brightest students that we have in the Agronomy programme. It is a moment of pride for us to see her succeed and get placed with Monsanto.”

“The 1,000 acre of farm land that we have, offers students the plenty of opportunities to implement what they learn. We hope to see more students following Kavita’s footsteps in future,” he added.

The School of Agriculture at LPU is one of the leading institutes for Agricultural education in the country. The programmes are geared towards helping students build a research aptitude and offer opportunity of ‘learning by doing’.
