Lohri celebration

State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, celebrated “Dhiyan di Lohri” with exuberance and fanfare. Students wore traditional attires and were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with speeches, highlighting the importance of the festival. Students showcased their talent in various activities. Kite-flying event was also organised. Parents of new born girl children were invited and honored by State Public School president Dr Narotam Singh and vice-president Gagandeep Kaur who also lit the holy bonfire. Children had a gala time as they danced around the bonfire and offered their prayers for the prosperity of the nation. Principal Savina Bahl greeted students and wished them success, good health and prosperous future. 

The Punjabi department of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated Lohri festival with great enthusiasm. Students sang folk songs and performed gidha. Sweets were distributed among teachers and students. Principal Dr Kiran Arora addressed students about the traditional significance of Lohri. All students and faculty members were present on this occasion.

Orientation programme

INNOKIDS- the pre-primary School of Innocent Hearts School conducted an induction program for the parents of new entrants in the nursery class. The parents of kids studying in nursery class in Green Model Town and Loharan campuses of the school were invited. A motivational movie “Conditions Apply” was shown to parents with a message “let the children do what they wish”. The purpose of the induction programme was to make them familiar with the culture of the school. Executive director of schools Shally Bowry, Executive director of colleges Aradhna Bowry, Director principal (Schools) Dheeraj Banati, vice-principal Sharmila Nakra, examination incharge Gurwinder, INNOKIDS in-charges Gurmeet and Alka, senior wing in-charge Shallu Sehgal were present. —TNS
