Jalandhar: A four-day international students’ exchange programme hosted by Apeejay School concluded at a special assembly here on Friday. Principal Girish Kumar extended a warm welcome to the delegation of students and teachers from Daejeon Jijok Middle School, South Korea. A theatre enactment on “We are one”, based on the Indian tradition of hospitality was presented, featuring South Korean students as well. This was followed by a soulful rendition of National Anthems of both the countries. A cultural awareness quiz contest was organised on the occasion. Four teams participated in the competition. Yoga tournament
Jalandhar: Dayanand Model School, Model Town, organised the DAV National Sports Yoga Tournament (cluster level) for boys and girls. As many as 70 students from different schools of Punjab and Jammu participated in the tournament. It commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by Dr Manju, head of the Department of Yoga, DAV University. Flexibility and balancing skills of the participants were unparalleled. Police DAV School won the overall trophy and students of the host school stood third. Principal Vinod Kumar expressed his gratitude towards the judges. PDAVMUN at DAV School
Jalandhar: Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar, is organising a three-day event, PDAVMUN 17, from Friday. Arunpal Singh, IPS, IG, PAP; and PK Uppal, IPS, Commandant (RTC), along with Principal Dr Rashmi Vij, Vice-Chancellor of GNA University, and SDM Nakodar, were present on the occasion. Inter-school cricket tourney
Jalandhar: Swami Narayan School, Nagpur, defeated Durga Public School, Solan, in the fourth match of the Bhai Gobind Singh Pasricha Memorial All-India (U-19) Inter-CBSE School Cricket Tournament here on Friday. With this win, Swami Narayan School will play against Vidya Jain Public School, Rohini, in the second semifinal on October 14. Pratap Singh Memorial Senior Secondary School, Sonipat, defeated GD Goenka International School, Surat, in the third match of the tournament. Pratap Singh Memorial Senior Secondary School will play against hosts MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar, in the first semifinal on October 14. TNS
