Jalandhar, November 27

Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma took to Twitter this evening to share the invitation card of his wedding with his Jalandhar-based fiancée Ginni Chatrath.

The wedding is scheduled to take place at Club Cabana in Jalandhar on December 12 and the reception is set to take place on December 14 in Amritsar, Kapil’s hometown. The marriage function starts with a jagrata at Kapil’s place on December 11.

The card in white and golden colour has ‘GK’ written on top with G standing for Ginni and K for Kapil. Posting the card, Kapil wrote, “Need your blessings”, after which followed the wishes of his followers, including many bigwigs. Among those who congratulated the couple were badminton star Saina Nehwal, actor Himansh Kohli, musician Sukshinder Shinda and others.

Though preparations for the wedding are on at Ginni’s place since the past over two months, the family has kept away from the media. Even today, Ginni was said to be away to Mumbai. It was on March 18 last year that the couple had publicly announced about their relationship and marriage plan, that time too on social media.

Like Kapil who became popular with his show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, Ginni (her real name Bhavneet Chatrath) too has also been fond of theatre and had appeared with Kapil in a show, ‘Hans Baliye’. Though they were known to each other since college days since about 12 years ago, they reportedly came close in this show. Ginni has been ardently sharing posts of Kapil on her accounts in social media.

Both came along when Ginni was doing her graduation from HMV College here. In those days, Kapil used to help the college team with their theatre performances for youth festivals. It was during rehearsals that their love story started. Ginni studied from MGN School and later completed her MBA in finance. She is five years younger to Kapil.
