Judicial officer inspects Central Jail in Hoshiarpur

District and Sessions Judge-cum-in-charge chairperson District Legal Services Authority, Priya Sood, visited Central Jail Hoshiarpur today. During the visit to jail, District and Sessions Judge Priya Sood reviewed the working of jail staff.

Apart from this, she also listened to the problems of inmates of the jail and ordered the jail administration to address their problems. The District and Sessions Judge reviewed the cleanliness and quality of the food being given to the prisoners. She also visited the hospital at the jail.

Also, Hoshiarpur SDM Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu visited Central Jail Hoshiarpur and inspected a camp organised under ‘DEPO’ scheme. On this occasion, DSP Daljeet Singh and Health Department officials were also present. After this, she also visited the private drug de-addiction center in Baljit Singh Hospital.

SDM said after identification of the patients trapped in drug abuse, they should be told about the drug de-addiction centers, so that they can lead a healthy life by getting their treatment done.

She said apart from DEPO, the inmates should also be apprised of the innovative programmes such as ‘Buddy’ and ‘mission healthy Punjab’ campaign which have also been started by the government to create a drugless society.
