Jhanvi first in 800-m freestyle category

JALANDHAR: In the ongoing 43rd Junior Punjab State Swimming and Water Polo championship here at the Sports College, City girl Jhanvi Sharma won the first prize in 800m freestyle category.

In the ongoing  43rd Junior Punjab State Swimming and Water Polo championship here  at the Sports College, City girl Jhanvi Sharma won the first prize in 800m freestyle category. Devin Sharma from Jalandhar got the third place in 800m freestyle category in boys category.

Overall eleven different feats were held in  various categories. Ludhiana won the first position in over three categories including 200m freestyle and 100m back stroke category, Jalandhar too won many laurels.

The city players bagged the first position in the 800m freestyle and second positions in 200m freestyle in boys and girls. The city players also bagged the third positions in 200m freestyle for boys and 800m freestyle for boys category. Ferozpur players too gave exemplery performances by bagging the first position in 800m freestyle category for boys and 100m backstroke category for girls. 

It also bagged second position in 100m backstroke category for boys and 1500m freestyle category for boys. The border district also bagged the third positions in 1500m freestyle category for girls, 200m freestyle category for girls  and 800m freestyle category for girls.

Other districts including Sangrur, Faridkot, Patiala and Hoshiarpur too performed well on the second day.
