Jalandhar: Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan Campus, organised an IT fest. Around 85 students  participated in the event. The motive behind organising the event was to test the technical knowledge of students. Various events like words worth, tech quiz, speed testing, LAN gaming, chess, Powerpoint presentation and poster-making were held on the occasion. Payal bagged the first position in words worth. Loveleen Kaur remained first in speed testing while Gaurav attained the first position in chess game. Dr Shailesh Tripathi, Group Director, Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, congratulated the winners.TNS 

Mock fire drill held

Hoshairpur: A mock fire and evacuation drill was conducted at Navodaya Vidyalaya in Phalahi, Hoshiarpur, under the National Disaster Management School Safety Policy 2016. It was aimed at making staff and students aware of fire-fighting techniques. The main objective behind conducting the programme was to prepare school staff and students for any natural and man-made adversity, including fire and earthquakes. AK Verma, tehsildar, Hoshiarpur, Avtar Singh (ADFO), Jaswant Singh, sub-fire officer, and Santokh Singh Heer, coy commander, Home Guards, shared their thoughts on life-saving skills. OC

Man electrocuted

Nakodar: Jaswindar Kumar (31), a resident of Nahal village, was electrocuted while repairing a motor in nearby Fatehpur village on Thursday. The police have registered a case and sent the body to the Civil Hospital, Noormahal, for post-moterm. OC
