A yoga camp was organised under the inspiration of Principal Kiranjeet Randhawa, on the premises of the college. Teaching and non-teaching staff and members of the Local Managing Committee participated in the ‘Yoga for Peace and Harmony’ Camp. Sh Madan Mohan, the Yog Guru from Phagwara, emphasised on the importance of yoga in modern, polluted atmosphere.

The ‘Yoga” he said, ‘creates a healthy balance between mind, body and soul. He conducted various exercises that were meant for improving digestion. Many other exercises focused on lungs, lever, kidneys and other vital organs like eyes and nervous system. Principal Kiranjeet Randhawa thanked all the guests for their gracious presence and the Guru for such a wonderful and meaningful programme.

International Yoga Day was observed by Bharat Vikas Parishad Phagwara, Indian Medical Association Phagwara, besides different social and religious organisations at Phagwara, Goraya, Phillaur, Banga, Noormahal and Nakodar. Our Correspondent

Celebrations in Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur: Panjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre (PUSSGRC), Hoshiarpur, observed International Yoga Day here on Thursday. Dr Sukhvinder Singh Bamber, co-ordinator (CSE) and I/c NSS welcomed the yoga expert Col Sewa Singh (Retd). Prof Harminder Singh Bains, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University and Director, Panjab University SSG Regional Centre, stressed on the need of yoga in life.

Col Sewa Singh (Retd) said most of the fitness programmes were hard to put in practice. Scientific yoga of only three minutes was good enough to keep a person fit.

He said life depends on action and the action was based on flexibility, power and aim of life. Three minutes of yogic exercises could improve flexibility and power in body. oyees and students
