A two-day inter-school contest, Prativaad, concluded at GNA University on Wednesday.

The first day of the grand event not only brought forth the young talent but also nurtured and developed competitive spirit among students. The event received wonderful response from around 1,500 students of 70 schools in the state, who participated in various competitions such as ‘Robotronz’, ‘Young chef competition’, photography, ‘Peripherals get together’, gaming mania, flying combat, e-treasure hunt, voice of Doaba, graphic design, photoshop, commerce olympiad, spell bee, bridge ‘O’ mania, ‘Technovation’, web development, ‘Ad Mad Show’ and digital design.

On the second day, Maj Gen RK Singh was the chief guest. He congratulated young students who took part in the event. He said: “Though the world is progressing at a rapid rate, the values of truthfulness and integrity should always be a part of your personality.”

Pro-chancellor Gurdeep Singh Sihra graced the gala event. He complimented the university staff for taking such initiatives. He said such champions were made by strong vision, determination, persistence, skill and will. “The time is not far when GNA University will be produce future leaders and make Phagwara a brainy city,” he said.

The event was witnessed by jury members and teachers, who accompanied the students from their respective schools. A tough competition was witnessed amongst the participants. In total, 16 events were organised with a cash prize of Rs51,000 to winner, second prize of Rs3,100 and third prize of Rs2,100.
