In the Inter-District U-19 Cricket Tournament being organised by Punjab Cricket Association, Hoshiarpur beat Nawanshahr by 35 runs, earning 6 points.

Hoshiarpur scored 254 runs. The main scorers were Ravinderjeet Singh (50), Naman (48), Prince (30), Ramandeep (24) and Shiv Sinha (21).

Vishaval Kumar of Nawanshahr took 6 wickets and Vijay pocketed four wickets. Nawanshahr managed to score 244 runs in the first innings. Vijay contributed 86 runs and Prashant scored 41 runs.

Yogeshwar of Hoshiarpur took 4 wickets while Shiv Sinha got 3 wickets, Ramandeep Rana bagged 2 wickets and Shashawat Tiwari pocketed 1 wicket. After taking a 10-run lead in the first innings, Hoshiarpur declared the innings after scoring 176 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.

Captain Prince Akashdeep contributed 80 runs, Raju scored 26 runs and Naman scored 21 runs.

Nawanshahr could only make 154 runs against the set target of 186 runs and lost the match by 35 runs.

For Hoshiarpur, Shiva Sinha took 6 wickets and Mohit got 4 wickets.

District Cricket Association secretary Dr Raman Ghai said the next match of the tournament would be played between Hoshiarpur and Gurdaspur on December 7 and 8.
