Displaying portrayals of soldiers in an art gallery to writing literature pieces based on their lives, students of the DAV Institute of Engineering Technology (DAVIET) marked the first day of their annual technical fest ‘aDAVitya’ by paying tributes to CRPF personnels martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.
The two-day national-level annual tech fest, ‘aDAVitya 2k19’, was inaugurated by Dr RK Arya, vice- president, DAVCMC, New Delhi, who was the chief guest. Dr Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET, while declaring the event open said the tech fest was a uniquely perceived platform that aims that professionals from industry, scholars from academia and budding technocrats could interact with each other and generate invaluable intellectual wealth which helps in pushing the boundaries of latest techniques. Talking about the fest, he said it was aimed at bringing together budding engineers and managers on a competitive platform so that they could be provided with technical exposure and practical knowledge.
Dr Gaurav Dhuria, head, department of mechanical engineering and convener of the event, said the two- day techno cultural fest had around 100 events that were categorised under each department of engineering such as CSE, IT, Mechanical, ECE, Civil and EE and miscellaneous events under the categories of literary, fun, arts and technical. To keep the students abreast with the latest in their respective fields, workshops on python programming language, IoT and designing of e-bikes were also organised.
A star night was organised later in the evening in which the main attraction was renowned Punjabi singer Gurnaam Bhullar, who mesmerised the audience with his melodious voice and foot-tapping music.
