A team led by Food Safety Officer, Divya Bhagat, collected eight samples of food items, including six milk samples, one salt and wheat flour sample from various areas including Urban Estate, Cool Road, Model Town Road and Garha.

She said the samples would be sent to state laboratory, Chandigarh, and action would be taken accordingly.

Another team, led by SMO Kala Bakra, Dr Surinder Pal, carried out checking of food items being prepared at sweet shops at Bhogpur town of the district.

They directed the sweet shop owners to maintain hygiene at their shops so that people could get quality food.
