Health authorities collect 10 samples of food items

JALANDHAR: The mobile van of the Food Safety wing of the Health Department, on Wednesday, arrived at Jandu Singha, a small town of the district on the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road and examined 10 samples of various food items.

The mobile van of the Food Safety wing of the Health Department, on Wednesday, arrived at Jandu Singha, a small town of the district on the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road and examined 10 samples of various food items.

The team, led by Food Safety Officer (FSO), Divya Bhagat, among others, collected 10 samples of milk, tea- leaves, cheese, cold drink, juice, among others. Out of all these samples, one sample failed the quality test.

Food Safety Officer (FSO) Divya Bhagat informed people that under the Tandarust Punjab Mission, a mission dedicated to make Punjab a healthy and fit state, the state government had started a mobile van which was capable of detecting adulteration of food on the spot. She said this would help people to check the quality of food being consumed by them. She appealed to citizens to get samples of food items tested in the van.

Analyst Sarbjeet Singh, Hardev Singh, Anil Kumar, Jagjeet Singh and Avtar Singh were among others present on the occasion.
