Four FIRs registered over illegal mining

The Jalandhar administration has initiated a special campaign in the district against illegal mining. Four FIRs have been lodged against people involved in sand mining, said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Varinder Kumar Sharma. Besides, four tractor trolleys have been confiscated.

The DC called upon the people to come forward and help the district administration keep a strict vigil over illegal mining in the district by registering their complaints.

In order to check the menace of illegal mining in the state, the Punjab government has launched PB GRAM online portal where people can lodge their complaints. The District Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) has been appointed nodal officer. He said that besides this portal, people could also lodge their complaint regarding the illegal mining on helpline number 0181-2459664.
