To check adulteration in food products and ensuring hygienic environment at sweet shops and restaurants, the food safety team on Thursday conducted raids at various shops at Nawanshahr and Banga.

Divulging details, Assistant Food Safety Commissioner, Manoj Khosla said following the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Amit Kumar in wake of Mission Tandarust Punab, sweet shops and restaurants of Nawanshahr and Banga were checked by a team led by him.

He said seven samples of milk products including cheese, curd, burfi, khoya, desi ghee and sauce were collected from various shops. Besides, Rahul sweets in Banga was served a notice for not maintaining cleanliness and hygienic conditions at workshop as well as not having valid license of food safety.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar, asked the food vendors to maintain high standards of food safety as no one would be spared if found guilty of adulteration.
