Jalandhar, January 19
The Punjab and Haryana High Court in a recent order decided to monitor further progress of the sewer line work of Nakodar town and directed the state to file a status report after six months.

The court had earlier ordered on December 5, 2018, that the state should file a status report on the progress of the work. A report was filed in which it was mentioned that the DPR of the first phase sewer had been approved and vetted by the PMIDC on May 6, 2016. It was further stated that the work is in progress and is likely to be completed by December 31 this year.
The report further mentioned that the DPR of the second phase sewer had been approved and vetted by the PMIDC on August 11, 2016, which will cover the remaining area of the town. The deadline for the completion of the second phase was spelled out to be December 31, 2020, when the entire project of the sewerage system of the Municipal Council, Nakodar, will be completed. — TNS
