With the government asking the farmers not to burn paddy stubble, the farmers are now asking for the compensation in return.

The farmers said the government could not just give some instructions to them because it was not possible for them to bear the cost that was associated with paddy management. They said was not possible for every farmer to buy machines which help managing the paddy straw.

Tarsem Lal, one of the farmers from Nakodar said the farmers must be given a compensation of Rs 6,000 per acre. He said why was the government only focussing on the pollution, which occured due to the paddy straw burning?
