Education Department launches ‘Fit-Guru’ app

As teachers are the pivot around which the ‘Shikihiya Sudhar Muhim’ (Quality improvement drive in school education) revolves, the Secretary School Education, Krishan Kumar, has launched ‘Fit Guru’ App and has exhorted the teachers to keep themselves fit.

Under the Shikhiya Sudhar Muhim, the state education department has virtually been making optimum utilisation of the creative and innovative potentialities of the dedicated teachers in devising new teaching learning techniques, modules, activities as well as sprucing up the infrastructural facilities in government schools for the past more than two years.

“The teachers have been exerting their nerves to convert the government schools into smart schools and are working for the all round development of the students, thus, the app has been launched in order to motivate teachers to remain fit and further encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyle”, said Education Secretary.

He said that the ‘Fit Guru’ was the new initiative of the Education Department dedicated to the comprehensive well being of the teachers. The concept signifies the importance of physical, psychological and professional fitness of the teachers to maintain the consistency of the qualitative improvement in the school education, he added.

Krishan Kumar also said that besides organising training workshops, quizzes in English, science and mathematics fairs, enhancing vocabulary activities etc to equip teachers with the latest know-how to keep them up to date professionally, the ‘Fit Guru’ app will motivate them to keep themselves hale and hearty to shoulder the responsibility of the nation-builder in its true spirit.
