Depleting groundwater to be featured in documentary series

Waris brothers, along with G Media group Inc., in association with Planet One Foundation and Gursarab productions, today released the title track of ‘The Pain of Water (Pani Di Hook)” — a documentary series.

Waris brothers Manmohan Waris, Kamal Heer and Sangtar were present on the occasion. The singers released the title track, the documentary’s poster and the YouTube link on the occasion. Deepak Bali from Plasma Records was also present.

The first episode of the documentary will be broadcast on December 21.They said the series would be available on G-media’s YouTube channel every Friday.

They said the pain of water is about depleting and contaminated water of Punjab. The state has been dubbed as the cancer state of India, mindless extraction of ground water and excessive unregulated use of pesticides and chemical fertilisers since the ‘Green Revolution’ is the root cause of all problems.

They said: “The harsh reality of the toxic water of the state – which people drink unknowingly everyday – unaware of the heady cocktail of toxins they are consuming therein, has been highlighted in the documentary.

The makers of the documentary have also extended a helping hand to Planet One Foundation’s ‘Save Water Revive Punjab’ mission. The founder of Planet One is a qualitative researcher. The makers said several experts from multidisciplinary genres were consulted and interviewed for the documentary series.
