DC house auction matter put off

JALANDHAR: The matter pertaining to the orders of a local court regarding the auction of the residence of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) for making payment to an 80-year-farmer for enhancement in land acquisition has been put off till July 13.

The matter pertaining to the orders of a local court regarding the auction of the residence of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) for making payment to an 80-year-farmer for enhancement in land acquisition has been put off till July 13.

The court of Civil Judge Senior Division Rashmi Sharma set the date for next month after an application regarding the revision of the orders was moved in the court by the district administration.

The case pertains to the non-payment of the dues to the tune of Rs 7 crore by the Jalandhar Improvement Trust (JIT) in a 28-year-old acquisition of 60 kanals for developing Transport Nagar near the Amritsar bypass. As per the orders, the sale of the DC residence was to be done by the tehsildar yesterday.
